Left and Right Wing Political Ideologies

This thinking diffused to other countries.
- In the USA, during the Civil War time, Black people were called leftists, and white people were called Right wing.
- In India, the people who support lower castes are called leftists and other rightists.
Those who stand in favor of feminism are called Leftists.
Those who support LGBTQ are called Leftists.
People who support poor, minority rights, minority religion, minority language, or minority caste.
They feel neglected and do not get their rights.
E.g. AAP, INC, SP, BSP

Who are Leftists?

Those who are in favor of minority groups and want change in society are called Leftists.

Nationalism supporters
People who keep a conservative of their religion, language, race, ethnicity, or caste.
E.g., BJP, Shiv Sena, MIM, MNS, Muslim league

Who are Rightists?

Those who have a conservative approach to their group are called Rightists.

Classes in society

Carl Marx said there are two classes: rich and poor.
However, the Middle class is the largest. Classes are divided into three: rich, middle, and poor.
In the 1960s, W Lloyd Warner proposed six classes in his book Class in American Society.
- Super Rich
- Rich
- Upper Middle class
- Lower Middle class
- Poor
- Extreme Poor
Then we should go on a Continuum, not a dichotomy.
Another thought is that parties can be divided across a two-dimensional X-Y axis. X-axis with Left-Right and Y-axis with Liberal-Autocratic

There is another school of thought with a Y-axis in the range of Social openness and Rigidity.
A party should be measured with these three ranges:
1. Left --- Right
2. Liberal --- Autocratic
3. Openness --- Conservative
